This musical from Broadway's Golden Age was a blast to stage. Lots of rehearsal time was devoted to practicing dance choreography to bring out the best in a company with varying levels of experience. My vision for rich gold and jewel tones popped against the black background, even as the individual characterizations and dynamic comedy duos and trios popped against the bustle and swirl of large court scenes.
