King Lear

My inspiration for this production of King Lear came from the play's pre-historic setting. As the ending of the play moves the English political scene from deep in the mists of the past to a system more recognizable from our history books, I played with a mix of primitive and early modern costumes. One of the more striking visual elements was the use of facial tattoos (in fact, many tubes of black eyeliner) for the members of the royal family.
